Mark Your Calendars for the Weston 300 Founder’s Day Fall Festival
The Weston Founder’s Day Fall Festival will be held on Saturday October 5th and will be the third major commemorative event being held this year to celebrate Weston, MA‘s tercentennial. The festivities will get underway with a parade starting at 11:00 which will end at the Town Green. The “Founder’s Day Fall Festival will feature a parade depicting the history of the Town of Weston, “From Farm Town to Suburb”. Following an introductory unit of police, honor guards, dignitaries, and honored citizens, the parade will showcase Weston in the 1700’s, the 1800’s, the 1900’s, Today and the Future. Units in the parade will come from all walks of Weston life including civic organizations, public and private school students, religious groups, businesses, and government agencies. It will include animals, equestrian units, re-enactors, historical floats, marching bands, and drill teams. There will be old and new farming, fire equipment, and automobiles. Additional participants are encouraged!”
Following the parade there will be music, food, an apple pie bake off competition, hayrides, a petting zoo, pumpkin carving, scarecrow making,and historic display booths by local organizations on the Town Green.
